In this day and age prevails a very relational theology. What matters is personal experience. Unfortunately lots of people praise this approach of the Bible in spite of an absolute truth (which is not, biblically speaking, only a concept, but one person, the Lord Jesus Christ). I believe that the Word speaks to each one, in their need, through the action of the Holy Spirit. I think that's how each person will be transformed and sanctified by God's power.
I believe, above all, that the relationship with the Word creates a convergence. All those who are transformed by the regenerating power of God through a saving faith in the grace exclusively through the atonement which Christ made, will approach a center. A single point. Despite the distinct personalities and unique gifts, faithful believers are being fashioned in the image and likeness of Christ. This is the purpose of God in regeneration through the new birth and new life in Christ Jesus.
I believe in plenior sensus. I think further, beyond what the Word says to me at any given time there is what God wants to say as truth deeper, broader and broader, more universal. Glory to His name when I understand and take for me, reading the Word is what He really wants every believer to understand, accept and practice in your life. I know this because I can read the Bible in various ways that are not legitimate. I read the Word of God grudgingly, out of obligation, annoyed, rushed, with erroneous assumptions and prejudices and even malicious (against God and my neighbor). Read the Word in a spirit of brokenness and submission is desirable. This is where the potter can mold the clay. That is where the transformation and renewing of the mind occur.
I learned to read the Bible with a friend in a very interesting way. Each person who is represented there becomes a known, and, over time, a friend. Friends say things to each other. Good things, like praise. But they are also critical. By knowing the lives of people we like them, more or less. We see how they think and why they act how they act. We learn from them the good and the bad examples as well. Ideally, the bad examples teach us how not to act or not to think about certain situations.
With this series of posts I want to share what I learned from each character as I read the Bible. I'm not saying that I will present the full meaning of what God means by revelation of that person's life. I shall endeavor to try put in simple words what I think the Word says. If I'm wrong send me a message. Probably should be an area where I'm sticking to my more personal interpretation and application of what God wants to say. Or maybe I'm right and you disagree because you need to review what God means. Although both us may be needed to grow. Let us cultivate a spirit of irenic (pacific) and we will grow together. Do not disagree with the need for apologetics. I think there is a huge space to be traversed by Christianity in relation to share and live the daily growth in the Word and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Soli Deo Gloria! Praises to God alone!
